P0340: No cam signal at Pcm

So does the engine crank over and not run or does it not crank over? We need more information to help you. Please let us know the code number as well. Here are two videos to help us get started in the meantime.

The vehicle cranks,
The vehicle starts. But it does not raise above 2500 rpm. When you diagonize it will indicate P0340: NO CAMSHAFT SENSOR SIGNAL AT PCM. On the signal circuit of the cam sensor, there was 4.91volts present. I bypass the circuit from PCM connector C2-34 to camshaft sensor connector terminal-1, the 5volts still exist. I replace the PCM, the 5volts still exist. Then I go to another car of the same model and I measured the signal circuit with igntion on; engine not running, it reads 40Mv,then I start it and it reads 0.4volts at idling.
So I don't know where the circuit is bridging causing the camshaft sensor no signal. so need help on how to trace the particular circuit causing this problem?

I need to tell you if the timing chain has jumped it will cause this problem, if the engine is okay this code will not make it not rev FYI. I would do a compression test first which is it is low will help tell us the timing chain is to blame. Here is the guide to help

This is not COMPRESSION ISSUE, if it is COMPRESSION ISSUE the vehicle will not be starting at all.

how many volts or millivolts does the camshaft sensor return to the PCM on the signal circuit?

The cam sensor on this engine is a Hall-effect sensor, NOT a variable-reluctance (AC) type. So the signal is not a sweeping AC voltage - it’s a digital ON/OFF (square-wave) pattern sent back to the PCM. If you want to test the wiring here is the wiring diagram and I will email it to you as well.

I have check the camshaft sensor wiring and it is not short at any point, the wiring was ok, Then I notice from the daydream that Map sensor was reading 0.00G/ms instead of 4.57G/me. Can you please send the diagram for manifold absolute pressure sensor for me to check it for short voltage or power?

Instead you have a better chance the camshaft is broken or the timing chain is broken, I would do a compression test first, this video can show you.

Please show me the difference between 3.3 engine camshaft sprocket and 3.8camshaft sprocket using picture before it would be they interchange it with 3.3 camshaft sprocket instead of 3.8 camshaft sprocket thereby causing this problem .. look at these pictures and tell me which one is 3.3 and 3.8, thanks

It looks like they are two different manufactures. I would count the number of teeth and if they are the same run it. So did you find broken chain guides?

I have come to tell you that I have solved the problem. The sprocket are not same. I replace the sprocket and it gone.

Not Noise but Rpm not rising above 2500rpm and CAM SYNC STATE that is showing OUT OF SYNC from LIVE DATA changes to IN SYNC and Rpm rises above 4500rpm after the sprocket change

Hmm, this can be because of a worn out timing chain, did you replace it with a new one?
