So, I got into my car in the parking garage after work today and it had a rough start with the check engine light flashing and the VSA light also came on. I scanned it and the above code showed up. I replaced my spark plugs and ignition coils last year in September, and I did my most recent oil change in the beginning of September this year. I’ve had a similar problem a couple years ago with similar codes and low oil is what caused it. I went to a nearby AutoZone and bought a quart of oil, topped it off and also disconnected and reconnected the cylinder 4 coil. This stopped the flashing check engine light and rough engine idle, but the same code remains. What can this be?

Hi,

If you resolved the cylinder misfire, the code needs to be cleared. Are you able to have that done? Also, it may eventually clear itself, but I can't tell you how many miles or starts it will take.

Let me know.

I forgot to mention, the oil level was normal, that was just a measure I took because I had a similar issue in the past. I checked the spark plug and it looked fine, as well as the coil, so I left it as it was. I cleared the engine light for now so I will see if it returns.

Will do, I went ahead and replaced both the spark plug and ignition coil just to be sure.
