had a check engine light, took to a shop, he changed both sensors. A few months later the car was lurching. He said it was the expensive PCM, which said it could have caused the codes to start with RrG the o2's. 4 months later the light is back. I changed the 02 sensor. now 11 months later and all is well for two months. now tells me over the phone could be the catalytic converter.

don't mind paying, but is this consistent? The car idles and runs good. Thanks

If there was a catalytic converter issue, you would likely have a P0420 code indicating the converter isn't functioning properly. Also, if the converter was plugged, it wouldn't be running properly, so that doesn't sound right to me at this point.

By any chance, do you know the diagnostic trouble codes that were found? Also, take a look through this link. It describes the most common symptoms related to a catalytic converter issue. See if you feel it mirrors anything you experienced.

Thanks for getting back, should have left these. have an AutoZone test. P0135 with HO2S-11 (Bank1 Sensor 1) Heating Circuit Malfunction O2 Heater Circuit (Bank1 Sensor 1)

With Secondary DTCs
P0141 :O2 Heating Circuit (Bank1 Sensor 2) *never seen a p042 code.

The car starts and drives, runs good, steady idle. If anything, perhaps a few days before check engine when car started, it revved higher than normal, not much to about 1700 rpm, norm about 8/9, but steady one out of the drive.
Doesn't smoke or burn oil, and I've had a car w/a bad converter before, this shows no signs I'm fam with. Car is totally stock I's been maintained its whole life.

Timeline I wrote is kind of off. Jan 21 changed O2s, four months later PCM, December Check Engine came back. He changed rear O2. all good, until now. He comes across like it's an old car ignore it, if it's running good. might even be the cat. called the guy that did a great clutch/flywheel on this three years ago, he's all cat converter. Just don't believe it. The SVT has been trying to keep her alive, she still is healthy, but costs have added up. And its high miles 236,000 but first 18 years were purely commuting (lived and worked a mile from both exits). since I've put 4 or 5,000 miles down a year. Should I ignore it until she needs it, make a decision then? Love the car. Maybe too much. Thanks again..

If it is running well, chances are you will need to continue driving it until the cause is identifiable. The idea it was idling at 1,700 RPMs is strange. Is there any way you can get your hands on a live data scan tool? If you can, I can walk you through a few tests that may indicate a possible issue.
