Overheating

Hi Team,

Have changed timing belt, water pump, radiator, coolant, thermostat, engine oil (5W30). Fluids have good levels.

No water in the engine oil nor oil into the coolant reservoir tank.

Car is working normally. No power loss at all.

Current outside Max Temp 35C.

Temperature running normally and as soon as switch on the A/C temperature goes up til reaching the red mark.
Same scenario when turning on inside heater.

By the when turning on the A/C, cooling fan is working too. Not sure about 2nd speed? Don't know how to test.

A/C is blowing cold air.

Fuse for cond 1 and cond 2 are okay.

Any lights on this issue?

Hello,

As I was researching your vehicle's problem a came across this. It is a Technical Service Bulliten [TSB] for your vehicle for a re-flash of your vehicle's Engine Control Unit [ECU] for heater performance in cold weather. I have included for you in the diagrams down below. I would recommend calling your local dealership and talking to the service manager. You should be able to get this fixed under warranty. I hope this helps, and let us know how everything is progressing, please.

Just wanted to clarify further car more accurate specs :
Nnitial entry into service: 26/01/2005
Diesel 2.0L
VIN : KNEJE55185K024476
TYPE: JE5518
Country current summer max Temperature : 35°C / 95°F

Based on those complementary info, are we still looking for ECU re-flash?

For my reference, could you please tell me why would the local dealership would bear this ECU re-flash into warranty?

Yes. If it is covered under this Technical Service Bulletin, they should cover this at no charge. You will need to contact your local dealership's service manager and discuss it with him. Please keep us informed.

Hi Alex,

You were right, the car ECU had a problem.

To reset it, I have unplugged the battery for 1 day, and re-plugged it and problem disappeared completely.
