The car listed above is a GT. I recently purchased the vehicle and noticed it was running to hot especially when I was coming to a stop or left it at an idle. Neither cooling fan 1 or 2 was turning on. so I replaced the coolant temperature sensor, flushed and drained the radiator and jumped the fans as well. The fans still aren't cutting on and now the transmission seems to be shifting hard after I drained the radiator and changed the sensor. So if anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi,

It sounds like the cooling fans are the cause of it running hot. If it only happens when at a stop or slow speeds, that is the likely cause.

Now, you mentioned that you jumped the fans and they didn't work. By that, do you mean you ran power directly to them? If that is the case, the fan motors must be bad. If you put power directly to them, they should work.

Here are the directions specific to replacing them for your vehicle. The attached pics correlate with the directions.
