Overheating

Inlet pipe that goes back to engine from lower radiator hose broke and I replaced. While housing was off thermostat was right there so I decided to change. After replacing, van started overheating. Thermostat goes in only one way, right? Anyway cannot seem to locate problem, leaning towards a clogged radiator. I appreciate any feedback because this one got me.

Hi Ken,

Yes a thermostat could be installed backwards and if so, could cause the behavior you are seeing. One thing I would like to ask is, is the electric fan working?

It sounds like everything was okay prior to the hose change so if that is true, I would double check the installation of the thermostat.
