I think I "only" have a warped head.
Parts are affordable, and my time is free.
Where can I get a proper manual to walk me through the procedure?

Hello, I am Danny.

If you go to your local auto parts stores there are two different companies that make auto repair manuals for specific vehicles. One is Chilton and the second one is Haynes. If you are computer savvy you can go online and maybe there will be something on YouTube considering Nissan Altima's are a popular car. You could also go to a Nissan Dealership to the parts department and ask, but I am sure that manual would cost a fortune. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions if needed.
