While idle car temperature gauge rises then once moving it goes back down. Also radiator hose collapsed. What does this mean?

Used to be, back in the day, every radiator hose had an anti-collapse spring inside of it.

When they seemed to be forgetting to put them in, I would even remove the spring out of the old hose that I was replacing and put it in the new one.

The collapsing hose may be your overheating problem. The new hose might be thicker/ stiffer than the one on there now. One containing an anti-collapse spring might be a plus, if one exists.

Replacing it would be the place to start.
