When driving speedometer stops working, no gas mileage information. Will not shift well, seems bogged down. Can unhook battery and it will go back to normal. Research says replace output shaft speed sensor, bought the part but unable to locate.

So, this car does not have a VSS sensor per say. The job of the VSS is now done by the ABS wheel speed sensors and the data is shared through the CAN. The fact that you can reset it, and it works for a while shows you it is not a sensor problem. Do you have a code number? Here is how to run the scan to retrieve the codes number which I believe will show us the ABS control module is bad. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

Other information told me to replace the lead plate in the transmission. Will the ABS control sensor make it not shift correctly, no dash information, and no MPH?

Yes, because the vehicle has no MPH data due to the failed ABS module, but I would check the fuses first just to be safe. Here is a guide and the fuses that need to be checked in the images below.

Fuse 52 was not hot, changed it and now it’s hot. RPMs are lower now and shifting without issue. Fuse wasn’t blown, confused on why it wasn’t working.

It could have been a bad connection that you fixed by simply removing and replacing the fuse. So, to confirm the problem is solved?
