The ignition key will not open the trunk

I have to press the trunk release button on the dashboard to open it. I'm partially disabled and it would be helpful if I could open the trunk with a key.

This car has a trunk open cancel switch which is on the passengers side please make sure it is not in the on position. Here are some diagrams to help us fix it. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
