Can you post the filter make and part No? An incorrect filter often will just leak oil from the seal or not fit at all.

There is a remote possibility if it caused the pressure to go extremely high but that is highly unlikely. That would be more of a defective filter than an incorrect one.

Blow out the o'ring on the oll pump front housing caused by high pressure

That could have just as easily been caused by overfilling the oil also.

I agree, these engines have been known to have oil pump problems when they get some Km's on the clock, i do doubt that the oil filter was the cause of the problem,
