My fans only come on when the ac is on?

This sounds like the engine coolant temperature sensor that is not working right here is a guide to help you see what you are in for when changing it out and the location for your car (below)

Thanks you for the info I changed out the sensor now the fans come on just fine thanks for your help I love this site.
