2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette Side View Mirror

To better assist you please tell me if your model is a GL, GLS, or Premiere Edition, also the engine size in liter.

Our 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette is the Premier Edition, 6 Cylinder, 3.4 liter engine.

Please let us know if you need any additional information.

We are the ones needing instructions on how to take off the front side door interior panel so we can replace the side view mirror.

Hello Thanks for the info Okay..I am sorry, it looks like the manual doesn't show pics of how to remove the panel..so this is my thought..I am getting ready to pull a panel off of another type vehicle tomorrow. I can take some pics and that will at least give you an idea.......then kind of talk you through the rest and give you what the manual does say do you want to do that? If you do then it won't be until tomorrow late before you get the data Also, do you have automatic windows or roll up manually? Now what I do suggest though is to go to the dealer tomorrow and ask for some door panel clips, the ones that hold the panel to the door. Me..I would get the correct number, they may be about 50 cents each. I call them little Christmas trees .also have them print out the IPB of that so you see where they go it will help get things straight in your mind. When I do this the clips always break - at least one or two depending on how brittle they are then the panel won't stay on.....so....this is having the part there before you tear into it.....you can always take them back. Last you will either need a door panel removal tool (pic below) or if you are really careful you can use a screwdriver or two

Sorry so long to get back with you having some computer problems – major ones, so please bear with me as I limp along here.

The guy did not bring his car by on Monday now pushed to Thursday is this okay for the pics then?

Next do you have manual roll up windows or automatic?

Hello - Okay - here are the pics for the door panel..........There will be differences but hopefully this will give you an idea. The main thing.......go slow and be careful.......things can be sharp. The door panel

Look the door panel over really good for screws - fasteners, clips that cover screws etc. Here is my door panel tool.

A clip

This panel just pops off and has a clip behind it.

By the door handle has a screw.

The arm rest area has a screw

Okay the handle around the door release handle pops forward a little.

Now there is a clip that holds the door handle rod....it pops off and turns, the rod pops up from it.

Now the next pics just show the tool and clips or christmas trees.........I start at the bottom and work my way around......put the tool right on the clip and they pop right out.

The door panel on this model lifts up - don't forget to disconnect the electrical connectors.

Hello Also, it looks like you may have some recalls on your vehicle. The dealer may fix these for free. Please contact the dealer service department, give them the VIN number of your car and have them check on these to see if they apply to you.
