1992 Oldsmobile Regency Wont start

Hello, does the battery have a full charge? Battery connections all clean and tight? Have you tried cranking in neutral? With the key in the crank position, the purple wire at the starter solenoid, should be hot?

yes the batter has a full charge.check all the connections all good but when i crank it it just doesnt do nothing.....I tryed to start in N but still does the same thing..where is the starter located at?

Should be located down low, front side of engine. Your positive battery cable, should go to the starter solenoid. If your going to take it off, remove the negative battery cable, first.

you wouldnt happen to no what the problem is would you batter fully charge but will not crank over does not make any sound when cranked over....thanks for helping

You could try jumping the starter solenoid, to see if the starter will crank? Make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set. Use the shank of a screwdriver to touch the bat terminal and S terminal at the starter solenoid, touch at the same time, the starter should crank. On some makes and models, I can reach the starter solenoid without raising the vehicle. If you have to raise the vehicle make sure it is safely supported.

If you tried the above test and had the correct terminals shorted together and no starter action. You might test the starter field terminal, key in the crank position, the field terminal should be hot. Your getting to the point, I'd have to pull the starter. Some of the national brand autostores will test it for you.

Also remember, all voltage and ground connections have to be good.

jumped the starter still no action...you think its the starter then
