recently the cooling fan stopped operating & the car over heated.I have changed the temp senser located by the thermastat.they also sold me a temp switch,but no one seems to know where it go's..
I tryied the usual spots,heads,intake with no luck..
I gave up on that..but now the engine runs rough when in gear,hard to start but when it starts idles fine till you put it in gear.this morn. same part store sold me a ECM said it should fix both problems..it didnt fix anything..oh ya they suggested changing oxygen senser did that...it is making a lifter noise that wasnt there before like its sticking..used engine cleaner & changed oil & added luckas oil treatment its still loud as when i started...any help will be appreciated....STUCK...

The ticking you hear sounds like an exhaust leak. As far as the temp switch, it won't control the fans. Its purpose is to tell the computer the coolant temp and ambient temp so the computer knows how rich / lean to make the fuel mixture. Have you checked the fan relay? Have you checked to make sure the fan motors are good?
