1999 Oldsmobile Bravada. Roughly 100k miles. I just got done having a new fuel pump installed for failure, also had the fuel filter changed. Within days after having this done, the service engine soon light came on, yet no new performance issues have been noticed. I have experienced Transmission slip between 1st and second, and between 2nd and third, but this has happened before the fuel pump. The light went off for a week or so - thought it was fuel related as I noticed it off after refueling. This time I refueled the light came back on again! Would it necessarily be fuel related at this point? A search on your site revealed an older model Bravada with Strikingly similar anomolies, where it was suggested the transmission control solenoid pack might be the problem. Is this expensive? Easy to do for the do - it yourselfer?
