Securtiy Light

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero with a 2.4L engine 105,000 miles. My security light comes on when I start the car. On occasions it blinks and prevents the car from starting. Sometimes I have to wait 20 minutes to an hour for the light to stop blinking before the car will start. I had a body shop to check out the ignition swith and the repairman did not find any problems with it. What is causing the securtiy light to come on?

Most common is the key and or the key cylinder
You need a new one you have to coded form the dealer
Or BCM but I’ll try key first
