Push rod help

I called the GM dealer.. they said.. the long push rods go to the exzost.. valves.. the short ones go to the intake valves.. But they couldn't tell me an order they would go in.. intake valve is the ones u see from the inside
all what u have to do is line them up
ex. valve u see from the outside where the ex. maniflod
