how do I get the sevice engine soon codes on 95 cutlass

I have a 1995 oldsmobile cutlass supreme sedan 3.1l with 140k miles. The service engine soon light comes on...I took it to auto zone and they did not have the equipment to get the code but told me I should be able to by counting the flashes. How do I get the code from the service engine soon light?

Ground terminal B of the DLC. Then engine light will flash, then pause, then flash again, then a longer pause, then start over. The first series of flashes indicate the first digit and second serie of flashes indicate the second digit of the code.
