Hello,

I have an automatic 2000 Oldsmobile Alero with a V6 engine. Everytime I turn on my heater I smell raw gasoline. After my car heats up the smell goes away. I looked under the engine and could not see a leak. I also could not smell gasoline coming from the engine. I do not know much about cars and I am worried it is a huge risk for me to be drinving. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Rachel

hey Rachel

if you pop the hood , look directly at the engine , look for fuel lines , they will lead you to a small canister with a vacuum hose on it called a regulator , get some help and have the other person turn the key to the run . not start postion and see if you can see fuel running from the regulator , the pump will only run for 2-3 seconds like this so you may have top do it several times , and you have to look close because fuel evaporates quickly especially when its hot like on the engine

let me know
