1995 Olds Cutlass Ciera 130,000 miles, 3100 V-6 engine, car from Wisconsin and has been exposed to road salt.
I am trying to replace the pressure power steering hose on the car but the hose fitting to the power steering is frozen. I have been applying penetrating oil to the fitting for 2 days so far.
I have tried using a regular wrench and also a wrap around crows foot. I cannot get enough leverage on the wrench and the crows foot slips off the fitting rounding the top corners of the fitting. I have been able to use a 12" rachet onto the crows foot, but it requires the use of a swivel joint, and have NOT been able to break the fitting loose
Any suggestions as to how to more securely grab the fitting to break it loose with such a limited work area and no direct route from the fitting and past the engine so more torque could be applied?
