Check Engine Codes

P0125 Insufficent time or temp for closed Loop

P01655 Purge, EGR or shift solenoid a circuit

When I tried to check these back against the OBD database it doesn't even recognize a P01655 error

Let me add than when I first start up the car it runs fine until the temp reaches 200 at this point the car shakes/sputters at stop signs and red lights , has next to no acceleration and backfires often between 15-30 mph

Also I am all thumbs so any repairs would need to be done by a professional I've dumped over $2000 into the car the last 15 months and not looking to significantly add to that total

sorry about the wait, frist thing we need to do is check the thermostat, if it is stuck open it will set the first code. Next it sounds like the egr control seliniod could be shorted, removethe electrical connector and check the ohms resistance between the two termnails and see what it is, please get back to me.

took it to a mechanic today as I was in fear of doing permanant damage to the engine

The compression tests came back fine But i have a leak in the fuel line and the coils and spark plugs all need to be changed ($800 for parts and labor ugh...)

Having no knowledge about cars I have another question. The previous shop used Bosch spark plugs, the mechanic today says these types of plugs really should not be used in domestic cars, they are better served in BMW/Audi type vehicles. Is his statement correct?
