2001 Oldsmobile wont come out of park

We just had the locking cylinder replaced and now it wont come out of park. any ideas?

There is a solenoid switch that may be bad

try this
1. turn key to the off position
2. step on brake
3. try to shift to netural
4. start engine in netural
