I have a 1987 Oldsmobile Calais with 87,000 miles on it. The problem is when I am driving down the road it wants to die or acts like it is going to die. I checked the codes, which were 33 and 44. I replaced the MAP sensor and the Oxygen sensor after getting those codes. The car still does the same thing as before I replaced the sensors.

Code 33 is the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) sensor, not the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor.

Code 44 is Lean Exhaust. "Most probable cause is restricted fuel filter. Check for vacuumleaks, low fuel pressure. Replace Oxygen sensor.

It seems that in your cause it wasn't the Oxygen sensor that needed to be replaced. So check the other things
