Brakes problem

Hi !
I have got a 1978 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency Coupe.
Engine is V8 5.7 Liters.
When i brake i feel the car is steering a little bit to the right which would indicate there is a problem with the brakes.
How would i find out which brake is it and is it possible to install brakes by myself or do i need a specialist ? i have no clue about car cause i never took intrest but i am a very technical person.
