Hi - My Oldsmobile is having trouble starting. I turn it on and it cracks, hesitates for about a minute, then begins running. When it starts running, it's fine and no other problems exist. I thought it might be a fuel injector problem and I have put STP in, added coolant. Today, I had someone look at it and said it was an "intake leak." How probable is this? Is this an expensive thing to fix? What could else could it be?

That's not an intake leak. If it were, your car wouldn't run fine, EVER.

You have a leaking fuel pressure regulator. The FPR is supposed to hold fuel pressure to your injectors when you shut your engine off. This is so your car will start as soon as you turn your key.

When your FPR leaks, then it won't hold any pressure when you shut your car off. And when you go to crank it, you have to do so for several seconds until the fuel pump can get fuel from the tank all the way back up to your engine.

A FPR for your engine is cheap ($20) and easy to replace, if you want to do that yourself.
