driver's door mirror no longer moves up and down?

The dirver's door mirror no longer moves up and down with the interior control switch. I can hear the motor in the mirror, but the mirror does not move. The passenger door mirror does move up and down so the interior control switch is good. What do I need to replace to get the up and down control of the mirror back and how do I replace it?

Hello,

It sounds like the motor is disconnected from the mirror.
The motor is connected with the mirror with a plastic adapter, overtime the plastic can get brittle and break.
Typically when it break it cannot be reattached.
