1990 Oldsmobile Firenza 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

the battery the positive side gets very hot dont and when push gas it cuts off then it gets hard to start once hot what can it be

Have you checked to make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight, making a good connection? Have you checked to see if the alternator is overcharging? Does it get hot only when the engine is running or if it is off too?
