1987 Oldsmobile Delta 88 6 cyl 157,00 miles

When I start my car it sounds like I'm holding the key to long to start it up. So in turn it sounds as if I'm holding the ignition too long. What could be the problem?

It could be a sticking solenoid on the starter. Also, check to make sure the starter is tight.
