1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 130000 miles

Hi. i just recenty replaced my battery in my car...i then took it for a smog test. The people at the smog shop said that i failed because i just put in a new battery, then he continued to say that i should drive it around for a few days and then come back. My question is...when he said drive it around...approximately how many miles would i need to drive it before they are able to get codes from the battery?

Hi,I'd Drive The Car For About 30 miles.I Will set faster If It's Highway Miles.The Computer Looks at Various Sensors In your car.It Has To Go through tests.It looks at Cat Converter,Egr,O2,O2 heater,Evap System,Misfire,Etc.If The Check Engine Light Remains Off after Your Drive Than I would Say It's Ok for The car To be Emission Tested.
