The right front of my car is wobbly and shakes a lot. It is also kind of noisy as well. it sounds like something in the suspension is rubbing against the wheel slightly but not really sure. Any Ideas?

Hi,

If you hear a noise that sounds like a tire rubbing, the first thing I would recommend is to confirm there is no evidence of something rubbing it. If there isn't the next thing would be to check the wheel bearing. A faulty wheel bearing can cause a howling or rubbing sound.

One thing to try is this. See if the sound changes when making turns. You indicated the right side is where it seems to come from, so if there is a wheel bearing issue when turning left, it should get louder and when turning right, it should be quieter.

The reason for this is because the weight of the vehicle shifts when turning, applying more or less to that wheel.

Or, safely lift that wheel from the ground, and by placing your hands at 6 and 12oclock and then 3 and 9oclock, confirm there is no play in the bearing.

If you find the bearing is the problem, here is a link to get you started with the replacement. This link provides general procedures when replacing one.

If you look at the attachments below, they provide the directions specific to your vehicle.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
