I was driving along the highway at 55 mph, and decided to pass the car in front of me. After making the pass, I noticed that the rpms were going up, and the speed of the car was going down. After depressing the acelerator pedal down a few times, the rpms would go up, but the car wouldn't move any faster. I pulled over, opened the hood, thinking the transmission had blown it's cookies. No sign of oil leaking, everything seemed to look alright. I got back in, and put it in reverse- nothing, put it in drive- nothing, put it in 3rd- nothing, put it in second or first-it engaged. So I drove it home at about 25 mph. During this course home of about 20 miles, I heard what I thought was the noise of the torque converter. Someone said it was the TCC (torque converter clutch) or the TCM (transmission or transaxle control module). Could it be possible? A simple electronic device would be nice, but if the tranny is really in trouble, I don't think the car is worth it, please help if you can shed some light on this matter, thank you!
