Engine Performance problem

Okay, when I drive my car for a certain amount of time it tends to quit when i come to a stop. So when I try to crank it it does but when put in gear it shuts back off but after a few minutes it cranks and goes again but when it time for me to stop again it does the same thing over again. I was told that my fuel pump was very weak could that be the problem?
