1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass How Can I Repair Error Codes 22 And

code 22 indicates a faulty throttle positioin sensor (TPS) or faulty wiring to TPS. code 34 indicates faulty MAP sensor or faulty wiring to sensor.

I purchased a new Map Sensor, but when it's plug up it won't run at all. Someone told me that I had to unhook the battery for a while to reset the computer. Is this something I have to do in order for it to pick up the new MAP?

the PCM should automatically detect the new sensor.

what happens when you disconnect the MAP sensor? does the engine idle rougher or stall out completely?

Well when the MAP is unhooked it will start up but won't take gas, but as soon as I hook MAP back up it dies just like I turned the key off.

I put a new MAP on it, but it does the samething.

Do you have any idea how I could fix this?

Do a wire by wire continuity from the sensor to the ECU, you will need the pin code for the ECU and a multi meter with a fine probe to access the pins with out doing any damage.
