oldsmobile cutlass ciera 1988 3.8 engine: i have recently repair the engine but i have problems with rich fuel mixture, i scan the engine and found the code 34, that sais its the map sensor, so i check the time and found that the ecu is retarding it and the fuel mixture is enriched, that told me that there are vaccum leaks so i check them and didnt find anything, the car doesnt have catalyc converter and the o2 sensor is working fine, what else could it be

Did you check the map sensor itself? See if it holds vauum...apply vacuum and see if the signal return changes voltage. The ECM could also be cauing problem.

my car doesnt have a map sensor, but the maf sensor does the job of the map and also work like the baro sensor, i also try a new ecm with new memories, the rom and prom, and still does the same, when he engine is hot and at low rpm the problem disapear, but when i need power it fails, and also when i release the throttle the engine stops, i really dont have any more ideas af what could it be becouse i also check if the egr is working and it seem to be ok

So you did replace the MAF? and ECM?
You may have a vacuum leak, get a can of spray gumout, spray the vac lines and maniflod area, when the idle changes, youve found the leak! You want the engine running and spray on the outside but do direct the stream onto the hoses, if it is a vacuum leak, the engine idle will change speed, then you have detected a leak, repair the vacuum leak and see how it runs! Test the ECT engine coolant temp sensor, use an ohm meter. Cold it should be >50,000 Hot it should be 177 ohms or there about!
