1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass smoke from tail pipe and smell

upon starting the engine, vehicle emits white smoke from tail pipe in large billowing clouds and smells like antifreeze. With acceleration problem decipates but not completely and when stops larger amounts of smoke are emitted.
