Engine Cooling problem
1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

hi,

i blow a radiator hose last saturday, i went to a garage last monday the guy asked for 450 dol, i refused because a hose only cost 15 dol no more, he agreed to do it for 200 bucks (it's already too expensive but i needed my car fast)
he didn't wanna make an invoice and my car seemed to run great, it still is 3 days later.
but something bothers me, i found under my hood a silicon liquid wrench spray that he forgot.
my question is: could he have repair the blown hose with that?
some people told me it's impossible, other say it is. i have to say, when it blew last saturady, my whole radiator emptied in less than a minute, the leak was huge.

No, he couldn't have fixed it with that. Chances are he used it to help loosten the hose clamps.

However, 200.00 is way too high for rad hose replacement. 75.00 okay.
