I am guessing that since it has been over 3 weeks since you've asked this, you figured the problem out, but, on the off chance you didn't I figured I'd lend a hand.
Open your car door and take a screwdriver, or other object, slide it under the mechanism, and pop it back in place. It probably looks like a D or an O before you do this, should look like a C when you are done.
