How do you read out the code on a 95 Oldsmobile. Autozone can not read trouble codes on this model.

retrieving trouble codes from a 95 ciera can not be done with your common code readers or scanners,
in 1995 was the middle of the transition from two digit twelve pin connector, to five digit sixteen pin connector, this model happens to be both, it is five digit sixteen pin configuration on a twelve pin plug,
you can "not" use your common A/B pin code retrieving tool, so don't make the mistake of buying one, because there non returnable and you will be stuck with a $30.00 paper clip that did not retrieve your codes, even your more expensive readers/scanner tools "won't" work even if they say
(for OBD-I and OBD-II) some of OBD-I & II can be upgraded with the purchase of cables and software.
there are some $300.00 testers out there that will retrieve these codes without having to upgrade, pep boy's carries the "ACTRON" scan/reader tool and sears "craftman" also, but make sure you get the right
model tool, tell them the year make and model and engine size, make an agreement with the clerk, that if he sell's you the wrong one that you can return it,
this will make them look harder and sell you the right tool. and if they try to sell you one that cost's $29.99
it's the wrong one, the package is very missleading
it say's" (FOR GM CARS AND TRUCKS 84 to 95)
THIS IS THE POPULAR A/B TESTER THAT YOU CAN USE A PAPER CLIP INSTEAD OF PAYING $30.00...
Or to make thing's easy and cheep PEP Boy's will retrieve your codes for free (limited time) otherwise
you can go to you local shop (around $40-$80) to retrieve codes, I went to three shops that had very expensive code tools and they could not do it. PEP Boy's came through for me, and the cost $00.00

I Hope this helps all that have this 1995 mind twisting configuration...

If I can help with any questions regarding the above
feel free to contact me at ([email protected])

Thanks.
