Hello - out there .. My bravada started prob when I closed liftgate - Then all acc. wiper-lic.plt lamp -lock actuator stopped working -intermittent problems-Keyfobs sometimes inop- Now I am getting a no start -security light not on - Says service brake system . I have an advanced Actron scanner -$300 model - shows no brake problems - only codes are 14181-14182- meaning fan clutch signal which I replaced recently (fan clutch ) Stopped the whirring sound . The single strange symptom is when I open liftgate a clicking in LGM and lic plate bulbs flick indicating a volt spike every three seconds. I,m hoping ground problem . What is best way to repair a ground body connection ? ANy thoughts on liftgate .

Sounds like you have a wiring harness problem where it goes from body to liftgate.Just like the harness in the doors, it is flexed everytime the liftgate opens and sometimes the wires break and ground out which can cause what you are describing.The anti-theft is connected to tehkey in theliftgate as well as the wiper system (rear wiper). I would remove the inner panels on the liftgate to access the wiring harness and start there, after checking all fuses of course.

I have the panels off - My first check was the harness
in the liftgate which is okay I believe .
The harness going back to the fuseblock ( supply I guess it is called I need to check the steady state of the five wire connector. My overall opinion is there is some bad ground problems with this car as now I am receiving a service brake system and no start condition . Which is a TSB on this car as a bad ground #101 causing ABS to signal inop. I believe the car will not start if brake system is sending a mesage to the instrument display .

The car sat for a while in Florida started once a week while I was away and I get the feeling all grounds on this car need to be serviced . What do you think ? JW

Could have corrosion if close to the ocean for any length of time, especially if they were questionable to begin with.

Being different modules are going wrong - keyfob,liftgate the same -now brake system in which I serviced myself and know it is okay. Some codes relating to connectors from Fan clutch -

Other than the computer itself which I can,t assume is bad these grounds must be causing the intermittents. Possibly some connectors need di-electric grease or cleaning . As you know if I take this route it will be time-consuming .
Does it sound as though wiring at different points has developed corrosion and causing all these intermittent problems . many grounds -bolts rusty and the rest of the car is extremely clean .I,m the orig owner and only 49000 miles .
Auto-ELectric intermittents - What a nightmare !
I,ll accept your last opinion and go forward with the wiring check if you believe it is the better route .

Go with enhancing grounds and checking the connectors first, it wil be far less time consuming and then you will know that you can test through the connectors due to them being clean and good connections.
