When we had our oil change recently we were told that there was "a small leak in the differential area". When I had our mechanic look at it he initially stated that it was minor but had to find out more. WHen I spoke with him again he said there were 2 seals that need to be replaced. It is on the drivers side and the pinion seal needs to be replaced -- $100.00 plus tax & labor and that the left had output shaft seal need to be replaced at $731 for the part only. He said it was more involved.

Help!! What is going on here. We have not noticed any leaking on our garage floor. We are confused.

Take it to another shop or even the dealer for a 2nd opinion. That seems extremely high$$$$ for that part, let alone to put labor on top of that.
