Air Conditioning problem
1998 Oldsmobile Bravada 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

a/c blows hot then cool not cold just cool then hot then cool. System is charged, compressor works,accumulator cold. It was working before the engine threw a rod and was replaced months later. Added freon and this is the problem suggestions where what how?

I've heard of this similar thing in other cars, Even though there's enough freon and the compressor is running properly, there's either some sort of blockage somewhere, or air trapped in the system. Maybe when you had to tear the engine down to fix that thrown rod, you had to disassemble part or all of the A/C system for more engine access room, and had open lines which could've allowed dirt, moisture, or air into the system. Also, perhaps faulty evacuation equipment, or incorrectly installed equipment connections may have been used when it was time to re-install and recharge the A/C system, or possibly it wasn't evacuated long enough to get that unwanted stuff I mentioned completely out. I'd suggest discharge the system completely, replace the Receiver/Drier, COMPLETELY evacuate the system (leave it evacuate for at least a good hour) then recharge it back up and see if that'll work for you.
