Just happened for the first time this past Saturday. Just purchased it two weeks ago and this is the first time I have had something to go wrong with it. Has been operating fine until now. Once repaired, should I expect this to happen again?

Probably a minor issue, either the shift lock actuator, or the swtich on the brake pedal. Once fixed it wont keep reoccuring!

Look on the brake pedal arm, as you travel up the arm, the stop light switch will be found, test it. Do the brake lights work? Any broken wires or melted connector?
