I just took my vehicle in for an emissions test to get plates for it. It failed. Due to the "Exhaust Emissions Readings". The Hydrocarbon Reading: (standard- 1.6) my reading- 12.87 Fail! The Carbon Monoxide Reading: (standard- 40.00) my reading- 327.90 FAIL! The Oxides of Nitrogen Reading: (standard- 3.00) My reading- 0.13 PASS!
Please help me get this taken care of so I don't have to spend a fortune on my 14 year old vehicle.

Start basic with a tune up with OEM parts to eliminate any misfires. You may have a fuel pressure regulator that is blown causing raw fuel to be dumped into the engien. If you attach afuel pressure gauge to theschrader valve on the fuel feed pipe, you should have 55-61 psi at idle, then it should jump up when you rev the engine. If it is high and doesnt move when revved, the reg is probably blown. If all is good, a fresh cat converter may help, but your numbers are very high so I would start with the other stuff first. The EGR looks like it is the only thing working (NOX)

I am going to give my veh the basic tune up plus change the Fuel Pressure Regulator. As far as the Cat converter, I called a local Midas Shop and they said if your engine light isn't coming on, (which it isn't) then the cat converter may still be good. Also, you got an extra fuel pressure gauge I can barrow, I don't have one.

You wont need the pressure gauge if you ae going to replace the regulator anyway, that is how you diagnose if it is bad.Midas doesnt know what they are talking about, your car is OBD-1 and doesnt monitor catalyst efficiency like OBD-2 does. Be sure to use OE parts, either A/C Delso or Autolite plugs. I suggest the rest of the tune up be A/C Delso parts.
