1999 Oldsmobile Aurora headlight problem

Based on your description, I wound say there is a problem with the multi function switch on the steering column or the wiring to it.

First of all, thanks alot for your answer to my first question, and I plan on checking the areas you suggested. But now I don't have headlights at all. The highbeams work if I hold the switch back but I have no low beams. My daughter was driving and advised me that she hit a bump and the lights stopped working and by smacking under the stearing wheel, which usually worked and got them back, also doesn't help. Can you please advise if you still think it is the same problem that you gave me in your answer or if it could be something else?

I reread everything and based on the fact that they would work when you hit under the steering wheel, I would say either the switch is bad or there is a loose connection in the steering column. Also, if you could craw under the dash an look where the headlight switch is located, check to make sure the plug to the switch is tight.
