1996 Oldsmobile Aurora V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

When I turn on the headlights, the instrument cluster lights, informtion center lights, and radio lights tunr off. Fuses checked all okay.

There's a short in the wiring in either the dimmer switch, or the wiring harness where the circuits branch off from the instrument cluster and the individual displays and lights.

Unfortunately, Oldsmobile made their interior circuits extremely hard to trace. (One of the reasons they went belly up)

Even a competent mechanic with many years of diagnostic skills will have a hard time figuring something out that on any other vehicle would be a simple fix.
