My 1995 Aurora was given to me by a coworker. The car has sat for 2 years. I have replaced the battery, and all of the lights, radio, wipers, etc work, but it will not start. It will not even make a clicking noise as typical of dead batteriers. Is there a fuse or an electrical connection that I could check? Please help. I have traced all of the problems that I know and have no solution.

Yes. I have installed a brand new battery. The motor will not even make teh normal clicking sound. I have also tried to jump start it, but nothing happened.

Do you have headlights and the idiot lites inside ? If so could be the ignition switch, park and neutral switch and starter itself. Try this at the starter short out the battery terminal and the small purple wire -did the starter crank the engine over ?

The dash lights and radio all work. The interior lights and head lights work also. I checked the positive terminal under the hood on the passenger side, and it is getting over 12 volts when the key is turned. Again, there is no attempt for the car to turn over.

I have cleaned the resistors on the keys and tried moving the shifter to nuetral and it still gives no notion of turning over. How do I access the starter without removing the intake manifold? Is there somewhere to place a jumper or test light to see if the switch is bad?
