After changing the oil and checking fluids last night, the car was running great.
I had some trouble when resetting the change oil light - the reset process wasn't working as easily as it has in the past.
This morning the car sounded fine, but wouldn't turn over.
With the ignition turned to the "on" position, the security light is flashing on the dash.
Could I have triggered the security feature when resetting the change oil light?
How do I fix this?

try the 10 min relearn,Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlockâ„¢ Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
Important: The vehicle learns the Passlockâ„¢ Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.

Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlockâ„¢ Sensor Data Code and/or password.
With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles. this should work, the wright fix is to replace the ignition switch, very common problem.

Thanks!

After calling GM and being told to have the car towed to a dealership for installation of a new ignition and key coding (at an approx cost of $500), I tried a method similar to this and it worked.

The key was turned from off to on 3 times, then turned to the on position for 15 minutes. The code reset and I've had no problems since.

I also reduced the weight on my key ring to one key to help keep this from happening again in the future.
