Bought car new from dealer. Yes, it has 430,000 miles on the original engine. I have been running 100% synthetic oil since 1st oil change. My problem is that engine has began to miss at idle. This did not occur before the transmission was rebuilt. I have been driving the car in this condition for about 100,000 miles. Took it to my local mechanic. He suggested new plugs, wres, filters, etc.... I replaced all mentioned components. No change. I purchased a new ECM and had it installed. No change. What could be causing this problem? Need help this is my commuter car. It travels around 1100 miles a week. Thanks....[img:d0ddd43ad6]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/177059_2001_Oldsmobile_Alero_at_331658_1.jpg[/img:d0ddd43ad6]

did you clean the injectors? they may be starting to plug up. you can have a injector balance test performed to see if that is the problem. is it setting any check engine lights.

I have had new injectors installed. That was the etc... on my original question. There was no change in performance or idle status subsequent to injector replacement. Could there be a ground wire off somewhere. Maybe associated with transmission?

very well could be or a vacuum line that didnt get hooked up either. I would stop in and have them look at it since they are most likely responsable.
