The service brakes light came on
I checked the front and rear brakes.
The back brakes needed changing
I put knew rotors and brake pads on that I purchased from Parts source

after the job was complete I reset the service light button.
The light would not go out
I then disconnected the battery cable for a few minutes
and then reconnect it
afyer goung for a test drive the service brakes light came on in a few minutes
I did have a little problem getting the calipers over the emergency brake on the back right hand side

How can I get the brake service light to stay off?

That depends on fi you have a pedal for it or a hand pull in the middle? The switch will be on the end or contact point, when the lever is at the off, or rest position, try pushing the contacts closed, if the light goes out, the parking brake needs adjustment to tighten the cables, or a cable replacement might be needed!

I checked the switch on the brake pedal. The alarm light did not go out on the dash.
Took the back wheels off and rechecked installation .
The light on the dash is still on

If the switch is good, and the brake system has no leaks...how is the pedal? Then you may need to have the instrument cluster tested...

There is a sensor in the brake reseivor tank. Pull the sensor out and see if the light goes off.
